Innovate UK / Technology Strategy Board have just announced another competition for feasibility studies in certain fields for technology-inspired innovation. The competition will award £2m in the form of grants of up to £25K per project, which cover up to 75% of project costs. Small and micro companies only (which can include startups).
I love to see the UK government providing this sort of grant – it’s enough money to make a big difference to a small innovative company. And the 75% funding level makes it feasible for the company to find the matching 25% itself without too much difficulty. The competition covers various technology sectors including one of my personal favourites, data visualisation.
The competition opens on 10th November with a deadline of 21st January 2015. (Note: as is usual with this type of competition, you need to register to submit an application and the deadline for registrations is a bit before the deadline for submissions. In this case the deadline for registration is 15th January 2015. So if you think you might want to apply, go ahead and register as soon as possible.
